Book of 1 Corinthians - Chapter 15 - Verse 31

15:31
I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.

Meaning

In this verse, the apostle Paul is expressing his deep commitment to his faith in Christ Jesus. By stating that he dies daily, Paul is illustrating the idea of constantly putting to death his own desires, ambitions, and sinful nature in order to fully surrender to God's will. This daily act of dying to oneself is necessary for Christians to experience true transformation and spiritual growth. It requires a continuous sacrifice of one's own needs and wants in order to live a life that is centered on Christ. Paul's use of the phrase "I protest by your rejoicing" indicates the seriousness of his statement and the importance of this continual process of death to self. By reflecting on Paul's words, believers are encouraged to examine their own lives and determine if they are truly living sacrificially for the sake of Christ.
