Theological Overview

In this verse, we see a promise from God to bring back all the people to a place of peace. The key word in this verse is "peace." Peace in the Hebrew language is "shalom," which encompasses not just the absence of conflict but also wholeness, completeness, and well-being. When God promises that all the people will be in peace, He is declaring His intention to restore harmony and wholeness to His people. This can also be seen as a foreshadowing of the ultimate peace that Jesus brings through His sacrifice on the cross, reconciling humanity to God and bringing true shalom to all who believe in Him.
