Book of 2 Thessalonians - Chapter 2 - Verse 4

2:4
Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Meaning

The verse mentioned describes a warning about an individual who opposes and lifts himself above anything that is considered divine or sacred. This person is portrayed as usurping the position of God by claiming authority and superiority over all else. By sitting in the temple of God and presenting himself as God, he seeks to deceive others into believing his false divinity. This verse serves as a cautionary message about individuals who may seek to manipulate and deceive others by claiming to possess god-like powers or authority. It highlights the importance of discernment and vigilance in recognizing and rejecting false prophets or leaders who attempt to exalt themselves above God.
