Meaning

After much discussion and deliberation, the apostles, elders, and the entire church in Jerusalem came to a decision to send chosen men to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas. Judas Barsabas and Silas, notable leaders among the brethren, were selected for this important task. The decision to send these men demonstrates the unity and consensus within the early church as they sought to handle matters concerning the gospel and the spreading of the message to other regions. The apostles and elders were keen to support Paul and Barnabas in their mission work, showing their commitment to the expansion of the Christian faith.
