17:19
And they took him, and brought him unto Areopagus, saying, May we know what this new doctrine, whereof thou speakest, is?

Meaning

When the people of Athens took the apostle Paul to the Areopagus, they were curious to learn about the new doctrine he was teaching. The Areopagus was a prominent council in ancient Greece, known for its role in discussing matters of philosophy and religion. By bringing Paul to this esteemed place, the Athenians were signaling their interest in hearing more about his teachings. Paul, who was a follower of Jesus Christ, was known for spreading the message of the gospel wherever he went. The request made by the people of Athens shows their openness to new ideas and philosophies, as well as their desire to understand the beliefs of others. This event marked an opportunity for Paul to share his faith with a new audience and engage in discussions about his beliefs.
