Book of Colossians - Chapter 2 - Verse 12

2:12
Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

Meaning

When we are baptized, we are symbolically buried with Jesus Christ, signifying the death of our old sinful selves. Just as Jesus was raised from the dead by the power of God, we are also raised to a new life through our faith in God's transformative work. Baptism is not just a mere ritual, but a powerful act of faith that marks our spiritual rebirth and transformation as followers of Christ. Through baptism, we publicly declare our belief in the resurrection of Jesus and our commitment to living a new life in Him. It is a physical and spiritual demonstration of our union with Christ in His death and resurrection. This verse highlights the deep spiritual significance of baptism and the profound impact it has on our identity as believers in Christ. It reminds us of the powerful work of God in raising Jesus from the dead and the transformative power of faith that unites us with Him.
