Book of Daniel - Chapter 12 - Verse 1

12:1
And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

Meaning

In this verse, we see the mention of Michael, who is described as the "great prince" who stands up for the children of the people. Michael is often depicted as an archangel in various religious traditions. The verse speaks about a significant event, referred to as the "time of trouble," which is said to be unparalleled in history up to that point. It is a period of turmoil and distress unlike anything previously experienced by any nation. However, amidst this chaos, there is hope and deliverance for "thy people" who are written in the book. This suggests that those who are faithful and righteous will be protected and saved during this challenging time. The verse serves as a reminder of the importance of faith and belief in times of trouble, as well as the assurance that those who are loyal to their faith will ultimately be delivered.
