As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all.

Meaning

The meaning of this verse emphasizes the incomprehensible nature of God's works and the limitations of human understanding. The verse draws a parallel between the mystery of how the spirit functions and the development of bones in a mother's womb with the unfathomable works of God. Just as we cannot fully grasp the intricacies of the natural world around us, we are also unable to comprehend the depth of God's creation and plans. The verse serves as a reminder of our finite knowledge and the need to trust in God's wisdom and power, even when we cannot comprehend the ways in which He works. It highlights the humility required to acknowledge that there are aspects of life and creation that are beyond our comprehension, emphasizing the importance of faith and trust in God's sovereignty.
