Book of Exodus - Chapter 16 - Verse 18

16:18
And when they did mete it with an omer, he that gathered much had nothing over, and he that gathered little had no lack; they gathered every man according to his eating.

Meaning

This verse, found in the book of Exodus in the Old Testament, illustrates a profound lesson about God's provision and equality. The Israelites were instructed to gather manna in the wilderness, with each person collecting an omer's worth. Interestingly, those who gathered much did not have any excess, and those who gathered little did not suffer from lack. This highlights the concept of God's equality and fairness in providing for His people. It shows that God's provision is just enough for each individual, regardless of their circumstances. This verse teaches us to trust in God's provision and to be content with what He provides, knowing that He will always meet our needs. It also serves as a reminder that we should not hoard or take more than what we need, but rather trust in God to provide for us daily. Overall, this verse emphasizes the importance of relying on God's provision and being content with what He blesses us with.
