Book of Exodus - Chapter 16 - Verse 27

16:27
And it came to pass, that there went out some of the people on the seventh day for to gather, and they found none.

Meaning

This verse from the Book of Exodus tells the story of the Israelites journeying in the desert after they had been freed from slavery in Egypt. On the seventh day, some of the people went out to gather food, expecting to find what they needed as they had on previous days. However, on this particular day, they found none. This event serves as a test of faith for the Israelites, as they had been instructed to gather enough food to last for two days on the sixth day, as the seventh day was meant to be a day of rest, known as the Sabbath. The lack of food on this day served as a reminder of the importance of following God's instructions and trusting in His provision.
