Book of Exodus - Chapter 23 - Verse 32

23:32
Thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor with their gods.

Meaning

In this verse, the Bible is advising against forming any agreements or alliances with people who do not worship the one true God. Making a covenant with those who follow other gods can lead one away from following the teachings of the Bible and can potentially influence one to turn away from God. The Bible emphasizes monotheism, the belief in one God, and warns against idolatry or worship of false gods. By making a covenant with those who worship other gods, one may be tempted to partake in practices that are contrary to the teachings of the Bible. This verse serves as a reminder to stay true to one's faith and to avoid being swayed by those who do not share the same beliefs. By staying steadfast in one's devotion to God and avoiding alliances with those who worship other gods, individuals can maintain their faith and uphold the principles set forth in the Bible.
