Book of Exodus - Chapter 26 - Verse 6

26:6
And thou shalt make fifty taches of gold, and couple the curtains together with the taches: and it shall be one tabernacle.

Meaning

In this verse from the book of Exodus, God instructs Moses to make fifty taches of gold to couple the curtains of the tabernacle together. The taches, which were fasteners or clasps, were made of pure gold to signify the importance and sanctity of the tabernacle. By coupling the curtains together with the taches, the tabernacle would be constructed as one cohesive unit, symbolizing unity and holiness. The tabernacle served as the dwelling place of God among his people, and every detail of its construction was meticulously laid out by God Himself. The use of gold in the taches highlighted the preciousness and value of the tabernacle as a place of worship and reverence. This verse emphasizes the attention to detail and the sacred nature of the tabernacle, reinforcing the significance of the structure in the context of the Israelites' relationship with God.
