Book of Exodus - Chapter 28 - Verse 2

28:2
And thou shalt make holy garments for Aaron thy brother for glory and for beauty.

Meaning

In this verse from the book of Exodus, God instructs Moses to create special garments for his brother Aaron, who would serve as the high priest. These holy garments were to be made with great care and attention to detail, not only for the purpose of glory and beauty but also to symbolize Aaron's elevated and sanctified status as the high priest. The clothing was meant to set him apart and reflect the sacred nature of his role in leading the Israelites in worship and interceding on their behalf before God. The emphasis on beauty and glory highlights the importance of honoring God in worship through the use of visually stunning and meaningful garments. This verse serves as a reminder of the significance of outward symbols in religious practice and the attention to detail required in serving God in a holy capacity.
