Book of Exodus - Chapter 31 - Verse 10

31:10
And the cloths of service, and the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments of his sons, to minister in the priest's office,

Meaning

This verse from the Book of Exodus is part of the detailed instructions given to the Israelites on how to construct the Tabernacle, the sacred tent that served as a dwelling place for God during their time in the wilderness. The "cloths of service" mentioned refer to the special garments that were to be worn by Aaron, the high priest, and his sons while performing their duties in the Tabernacle. These garments were considered holy and set apart for the specific purpose of ministering before the Lord.

The attire for Aaron and his sons was a symbol of their consecration and separation for the priestly duties they were tasked with. The clothing was carefully designed and made from fine materials to reflect the holiness and sanctity of the office of the priesthood. The garments served as a visual representation of the priestly role and the importance of approaching God with reverence and respect.

The significance of these holy garments extended beyond their physical appearance. They signified the importance of the priesthood in mediating between God and the people of Israel, as well as the need for purity and sanctification in approaching the divine presence. By following these specific instructions for the priestly attire, the Israelites were reminded of the sacred nature of their worship and the solemn responsibilities entrusted to the priests.
