Book of Exodus - Chapter 40 - Verse 29

40:29
And he put the altar of burnt offering by the door of the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation, and offered upon it the burnt offering and the meat offering; as the LORD commanded Moses.

Meaning

In this verse, we see the significance of the altar of burnt offering being placed by the door of the tabernacle of the tent of congregation. This location symbolizes the close connection between the people of Israel and God. The altar was a central part of the sacrificial system established by God for the atonement of sins. By placing the altar by the door of the tabernacle, it signified that access to God and forgiveness of sins were only possible through the prescribed offerings on the altar. The burnt offering and meat offering mentioned in the verse were both forms of sacrifices made to God as acts of worship and thanksgiving. The offering of these sacrifices according to the command of the Lord through Moses demonstrated obedience and reverence towards God. This verse highlights the importance of following God's instructions and seeking forgiveness through the proper channels as outlined by Him.
