Book of Exodus - Chapter 6 - Verse 6

6:6
Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with great judgments:

Meaning

In this verse from the book of Exodus, God is speaking directly to the children of Israel, reassuring them that He is the LORD and that He will deliver them from the oppression they are facing in Egypt. Through this declaration, God is not only asserting His authority and power over the situation, but also promising to actively intervene on behalf of His people. The mention of bringing them out from under the burdens of the Egyptians signifies liberation from their physical hardships, while the phrase "rid you out of their bondage" highlights the removal of the mental and emotional chains that have been placed upon them. The imagery of redemption with a stretched out arm evokes God's strength and willingness to act on behalf of His people, and the promise of great judgments suggests that there will be consequences for those who have oppressed the Israelites. Overall, this verse serves as a powerful statement of God's sovereignty and His commitment to delivering His people from bondage.
