17:21
And all his fugitives with all his bands shall fall by the sword, and they that remain shall be scattered toward all winds: and ye shall know that I the LORD have spoken it.

Meaning

This verse from Ezekiel 5:10 is a prophetic warning from the Lord to the city of Jerusalem. The Lord is foretelling the downfall of Jerusalem and the scattering of its people. The use of the term "fugitives" and "bands" refers to those who try to flee or resist the destruction but ultimately meet their demise. The phrase "fall by the sword" indicates the violent and tragic nature of their downfall. The scattering "toward all winds" symbolizes the dispersion of the survivors in different directions, reflecting the widespread devastation that will befall the city. Through this prophecy, the Lord proclaims his power and authority, making it clear that these events are not mere coincidences but fulfillments of his word. It serves as a reminder to the people of Jerusalem, and to all who read this verse, of the consequences of disobedience and the faithfulness of the Lord's promises.
