Book of Ezekiel - Chapter 36 - Verse 7

36:7
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I have lifted up mine hand, Surely the heathen that are about you, they shall bear their shame.

Meaning

In this verse from Ezekiel, the prophet is conveying a message from the Lord God to the people of Israel. The lifting up of the hand signifies a solemn oath or declaration, emphasizing the certainty and seriousness of what is to come. The heathen or nations surrounding Israel will bear their shame for their actions against God's chosen people. This verse serves as a warning to those who have mistreated or oppressed the Israelites, reassuring the Israelites that justice will be served on their behalf. It also demonstrates God's power and sovereignty over the nations, showing that ultimately, all will be held accountable for their actions. The message is clear: those who have wronged Israel will face the consequences of their actions, and God will ensure that justice is done.
