Book of Ezekiel - Chapter 44 - Verse 10

44:10
And the Levites that are gone away far from me, when Israel went astray, which went astray away from me after their idols; they shall even bear their iniquity.

Meaning

According to this verse, the Levites who turned away from God and followed after idols along with the rest of Israel will bear the consequences of their actions. The Levites were a tribe in Israel who were consecrated to serve in the tabernacle and later in the temple. They were meant to be set apart for God's service and to lead the people in worship and obedience. However, when they strayed from God and joined the rest of Israel in idolatry, they were held accountable for their sins. This verse serves as a warning to all who are called to serve God, reminding them of the consequences of abandoning their faith and following after worldly desires. It emphasizes the importance of remaining faithful to God and not being swayed by the temptations of idolatry.
