Book of Ezekiel - Chapter 47 - Verse 2

47:2
Then brought he me out of the way of the gate northward, and led me about the way without unto the utter gate by the way that looketh eastward; and, behold, there ran out waters on the right side.

Meaning

In this verse from the Book of Ezekiel, the prophet describes being led to the eastern gate of the temple in Jerusalem. The movement from the north gate to the east gate signifies a shift in perspective or direction. The waters flowing from the right side symbolize the life-giving and cleansing power of God's grace. Water often represents purification and renewal in the Bible, so the presence of flowing waters in this vision may indicate a spiritual cleansing or empowerment. This verse can be seen as a metaphor for the journey of faith, where God leads believers from one place to another, guiding them towards a brighter future and providing sustenance along the way. By contextualizing this verse within the larger narrative of Ezekiel's vision, readers can gain a deeper understanding of its significance within the prophetic text.
