Book of Ezekiel - Chapter 6 - Verse 3

6:3
And say, Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD; Thus saith the Lord GOD to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys; Behold, I, even I, will bring a sword upon you, and I will destroy your high places.

Meaning

When the Lord GOD addresses the mountains of Israel in this verse, He is speaking figuratively to all the different elements of the land. The mountains, hills, rivers, and valleys represent the entirety of the country. By declaring that He will bring a sword upon them and destroy their high places, God is warning of impending judgment and punishment for the sins of the people. The high places were often sites of idol worship and pagan rituals, representing rebellion against God's commands. The message is clear - disobedience will not go unpunished, and even the land itself will face the consequences of the people's actions. This verse serves as a reminder of the importance of faithfulness and obedience to the Lord, as He is sovereign over all creation and will hold humanity accountable for their deeds.
