Book of Ezekiel - Chapter 9 - Verse 4

9:4
And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.

Meaning

In this verse, the LORD is instructing a man to go through the city of Jerusalem and mark the foreheads of those who are deeply grieved by the sinful actions happening around them. The mark serves as a symbol of separation and protection for those who are faithful and obedient to God in the midst of a corrupt and sinful society. This act signifies God's recognition and promise to spare those who remain faithful to Him, even in the face of widespread wickedness. It is a reminder that God sees and acknowledges the hearts of His people, and He will ultimately protect and deliver them from the consequences of sin. This verse highlights the importance of faithfulness and obedience to God, even in the midst of a culture that rejects Him, as those who remain steadfast will be distinguished and preserved by His grace.
