15:2
And Abram said, Lord GOD, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus?

Meaning

In this verse from the book of Genesis, Abram expresses his concern to the Lord God about his lack of children and the fact that the steward of his house, Eliezer of Damascus, would inherit his possessions. At this point in the biblical narrative, Abram and his wife Sarai had been unable to have children despite God's promise to make Abram a great nation. Abram's questioning of God's plan reflects his longing for a child of his own to carry on his legacy. The verse serves to highlight Abram's struggle with his circumstances and his plea for God to fulfill his promise of offspring. It also showcases Abram's deep faith and reliance on the Lord for guidance and provision. This verse sets the stage for the unfolding of God's plan to bless Abram with a son, Isaac, who would eventually become the father of the nation of Israel.
