The phrase "By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD" highlights the gravity of the promise God is about to make. God then goes on to promise Abraham, "for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son," indicating that because Abraham was willing to obey God even in the most difficult of circumstances, he will be greatly blessed. This verse demonstrates the importance of faith and obedience in the eyes of God. Through Abraham's unwavering trust and willingness to follow God's commands even when they seemed impossible, he is rewarded with God's favor and a promise of blessings to come. This verse serves as a powerful reminder of the significance of putting our trust in God and obeying His will, even when it requires great sacrifice.
