In the ancient culture of the time, sharing a meal was considered a sacred act that signified not only nourishment of the body but also spiritual and emotional bonding. By bringing the food to his father, Jacob is not only fulfilling a dutiful son's role but also seeking his father's blessing, which was believed to hold great power and influence over the recipient's future.
