Book of Genesis - Chapter 40 - Verse 16

40:16
When the chief baker saw that the interpretation was good, he said unto Joseph, I also was in my dream, and, behold, I had three white baskets on my head:

Meaning

When the chief baker saw that Joseph had correctly interpreted the dream of the chief cupbearer, he eagerly shared his own dream with Joseph. In his dream, the chief baker saw himself carrying three white baskets on his head. The act of carrying baskets on the head was a common practice in ancient times, especially among workers and merchants. The baskets in the dream may symbolize the chief baker's responsibility for providing food or sustenance in his role as the chief baker. The color white often represents purity, innocence, or righteousness in the Bible, so the fact that the baskets were white could suggest that the chief baker saw himself as fulfilling his duties with integrity and excellence. However, as we will see in the following verses, the interpretation of this dream will have a very different outcome than the interpretation of the chief cupbearer's dream, bringing about a tragic turn of events for the chief baker.
