Book of Hebrews - Chapter 11 - Verse 31

11:31
By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.

Meaning

In this verse, we learn about Rahab, a harlot who displayed tremendous faith when she helped the Israelite spies. Despite her past occupation, Rahab's actions showed her belief in God and his plan for the Israelites. Despite the risk to her own life and safety, Rahab chose to aid the spies and protect them from harm. Because of her faith and her willingness to act on it, Rahab was spared from the destruction that befell those who did not believe. This serves as a powerful reminder that faith and action go hand in hand - it is not enough to simply believe, but one must also demonstrate that faith through their deeds. Rahab's story exemplifies how even those with checkered pasts can find redemption and favor in the eyes of God through their faith and actions.
