Book of Hebrews - Chapter 3 - Verse 1

3:1
Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;

Meaning

In this verse, the author of Hebrews addresses the audience as "holy brethren," emphasizing the sanctity and unity of believers in Christ. The phrase "partakers of the heavenly calling" highlights the believers' shared destiny and inheritance in the kingdom of God. By urging them to consider Jesus as the Apostle and High Priest of their faith, the author is emphasizing the importance of recognizing Jesus' divine authority and role in their lives. As the Apostle, Jesus is the one who has been sent by God to reveal the truth and lead believers to salvation. As the High Priest, Jesus intercedes on behalf of believers and offers himself as a sacrifice for their sins. Therefore, the verse encourages believers to fix their thoughts on Jesus, who serves as the ultimate example and mediator of their faith. By reflecting on Jesus' role as Apostle and High Priest, believers are reminded of the grace, mercy, and guidance that Jesus provides to them in their spiritual journey.
