Book of Jeremiah - Chapter 25 - Verse 33

25:33
And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground.

Meaning

This verse from the book of Jeremiah in the Bible describes a grim scene where the Lord's judgment results in widespread death that spans the entire earth. The verse paints a vivid picture of the severity of God's wrath, as it proclaims that the slain of the Lord will be so numerous that they will cover the entire earth, from one end to the other. The verse goes on to emphasize the lack of mourning or proper burial for the dead, as they are left to rot on the ground like dung. This imagery serves as a powerful reminder of the consequences of disobeying God and the importance of repentance and obedience. It also highlights the magnitude of God's power and the severity of His judgment on those who turn away from Him. This verse is a sobering reminder of the consequences of sin and a call to heed God's warnings and follow His commandments.
