Book of John - Chapter 5 - Verse 23

5:23
That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.

Meaning

This verse emphasizes the importance of honoring both God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. It asserts that just as reverence and adoration are due to the Father, so too should the Son be honored in the same manner. The verse establishes a direct connection between honoring the Son and honoring the Father, stating that failing to honor the Son ultimately means failing to honor the Father who sent Him. This verse underscores the divinity of Jesus Christ and the equality of honor and worship that should be accorded to Him and God the Father. It highlights the inseparable relationship between the Father and the Son, indicating that they are equally deserving of our respect, devotion, and reverence. By following this command to honor both the Father and the Son, believers demonstrate their commitment to the entire Godhead and acknowledge the unity and significance of the Trinity in Christian faith.
