Book of Leviticus - Chapter 10 - Verse 19

10:19
And Aaron said unto Moses, Behold, this day have they offered their sin offering and their burnt offering before the LORD; and such things have befallen me: and if I had eaten the sin offering to day, should it have been accepted in the sight of the LORD?

Meaning

In this verse, Aaron is expressing his concern to Moses about not being able to eat the sin offering that was made that day. Aaron had experienced some unfortunate events, which he believed may have made him impure and therefore not worthy to partake in the offering. He questions whether the sin offering would have been accepted by the Lord if he had eaten it in his current state. This verse highlights the importance of purity and reverence when it comes to offering sacrifices to the Lord. It also emphasizes the seriousness of sin and the need for repentance before approaching God with offerings. Aaron's words serve as a reminder of the significance of upholding spiritual purity and following the proper rituals and customs in worship. Through this verse, readers are encouraged to reflect on their own actions and intentions when presenting offerings to the Lord, ensuring that they are done with sincerity and a pure heart.
