Meaning

In the Bible, salt is often used as a symbol of purity, preservation, and covenant. In this particular verse, the instruction to season every oblation of the meat offering with salt signifies the importance of purity and preservation in offerings made to God. By including salt in the offerings, the Israelites were acknowledging the covenant they had with God, symbolized by the salt of the covenant. It was a reminder of their commitment to God and the purity of their worship. The verse emphasizes that the salt should not be lacking from any offering made to God, showing the significance of honoring the covenant and ensuring that all sacrifices were made with reverence and faithfulness.
