Book of Leviticus - Chapter 20 - Verse 8

20:8
And ye shall keep my statutes, and do them: I am the LORD which sanctify you.

Meaning

God is commanding his people to follow his laws and commandments in order to be set apart and sanctified by him. By obeying his statutes, his people show their devotion and commitment to God. Keeping his laws not only brings blessing and favor from the Lord, but also sets his people apart from the rest of the world. To be sanctified means to be made holy or set apart for a sacred purpose. By following God's statutes, his people are consecrated and dedicated to serving him and living according to his will. God is the one who sanctifies his people, showing that it is through his grace and power that they are able to live a righteous and holy life. This verse emphasizes the importance of obedience and holiness in the life of a believer, reminding them of God's role in sanctifying them and setting them apart for his divine purpose.
