Meaning

This verse from Leviticus 7:35 highlights the significance of the anointing of Aaron and his sons as priests of the Lord. In ancient Israelite culture, anointing with oil was a sacred ritual that symbolized consecration and empowerment for a specific role or task. In this context, the anointing of Aaron and his sons was a crucial part of their appointment to serve as priests before the Lord. The verse also mentions that the anointing came from offerings made by fire, which were considered holy and set apart for the Lord. By being anointed, Aaron and his sons were set apart from the rest of the community to carry out their duties as priests, offering sacrifices and interceding on behalf of the people. Overall, this verse emphasizes the importance of consecration and the sacred nature of the priestly office in ancient Israel.
