When looking at this particular verse from the Bible, it is important to understand the context in which it is being spoken. In this passage, the disciples of Jesus are being described as not understanding the messages being conveyed to them. The saying that was hidden from them and not known by them was related to the teachings of Jesus and the prophecies about his coming suffering and resurrection. This lack of understanding serves to highlight the human limitations in comprehending the divine plans and mysteries of God. It also underscores the idea that spiritual discernment and insight are necessary in order to truly grasp the profound truths found in the scriptures. The saying being "hid" from them could signify that their minds were clouded or that their hearts were hardened from truly comprehending the message Jesus was trying to convey.
