Book of Luke - Chapter 9 - Verse 46

Then there arose a reasoning among them, which of them should be greatest.

When Jesus' disciples were with him, they often debated among themselves about who would be the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. This verse illustrates the human tendency towards pride and competition, even among those who are followers of Christ. The disciples were all seeking recognition and honor from Jesus, but they were missing the point of his teachings. Instead of focusing on their own status, Jesus taught them about humility and servanthood. He showed them that true greatness comes from serving others and putting their needs above our own. This verse serves as a reminder for all believers to set aside their pride and ambition, and to follow Jesus' example of humility and love. By doing so, we can truly become great in the eyes of God.
