Meaning

When Jesus arrived at the country of the Gergesenes, he encountered two men who were possessed by demons. These men were incredibly fierce, so much so that no one dared to pass by the tombs where they resided. This encounter with the possessed individuals highlights the power and authority of Jesus over evil spirits. It demonstrates his ability to confront and ultimately overcome spiritual forces of darkness. The story serves as a reminder of the ongoing battle between good and evil, and how Jesus is able to bring freedom and deliverance to those who are oppressed by demonic forces. The account also showcases the compassion of Jesus, who did not turn away from those who were suffering but instead offered them hope and healing.
