Book of Philippians - Chapter 2 - Verse 28

2:28
I sent him therefore the more carefully, that, when ye see him again, ye may rejoice, and that I may be the less sorrowful.

Meaning

In this verse, the apostle Paul is explaining to the church in Philippi his decision to send back to them one of their fellow believers, Epaphroditus, who had been sick and near death while serving Paul. Paul tells the Philippians that he is sending Epaphroditus back to them out of genuine concern for their well-being and to bring them joy when they see him again. He wants them to rejoice at the return of their friend and fellow believer. Paul also mentions that by sending Epaphroditus back, he will be less sorrowful himself. This shows Paul's deep care and connection with the Philippians, as well as his understanding of the importance of fostering relationships within the church community. Overall, this verse highlights the value of mutual support, compassion, and joy within the body of believers.
