Book of Philippians - Chapter 4 - Verse 15

4:15
Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only.

Meaning

In this verse, the Apostle Paul is expressing gratitude towards the Philippians for their generosity and support during his missionary journey. He highlights the fact that when he was spreading the gospel in Macedonia, no other church came forward to provide him with financial assistance except the Philippians. This demonstrates the unique relationship he had with the Philippian church, who were willing to give sacrificially to help him further the message of Jesus Christ. Paul's reference to "giving and receiving" emphasizes the mutual exchange of support between him and the Philippians. They provided for his physical needs, enabling him to continue his ministry, while in return, they received spiritual guidance and nurturing from him. This verse serves as a reminder of the importance of generosity and partnership in spreading the gospel and building a strong Christian community.
