In this context, being "blessed of him" refers to those who are favored and chosen by God, and who will ultimately receive the promised blessings and rewards. These individuals are seen as deserving of God's favor and will ultimately thrive and inherit the earth. On the other hand, those who are "cursed of him" are those who are rejected and judged by God, leading to being cut off from the blessings and promises of God. This verse emphasizes the importance of aligning oneself with God's will and seeking his favor in order to receive the ultimate reward of inheriting the earth. It serves as a reminder of the consequences of one's actions and the importance of seeking divine blessings in order to receive God's promises.

Theological Overview

When examining the theological interpretation of the verse 'For such as be blessed of him shall inherit the earth; and they that be cursed of him shall be cut off.', it is important to understand the significance of receiving blessings or curses from God. In biblical context, being blessed by God signifies divine favor, protection, and prosperity. Those who are blessed by God are promised to inherit the earth, which symbolizes a place of abundance, peace, and fulfillment. On the other hand, those who are cursed by God are destined to be cut off, signifying a separation from God's blessings and ultimately facing judgment. This verse serves as a reminder of the importance of seeking God's blessings through obedience and faith, as well as the consequences of straying away from His will. Through word studies, it can be observed that the act of inheriting the earth implies a deep sense of fulfillment and satisfaction in God's promises, while being cut off suggests a severe consequence for rejecting His blessings. Overall, this verse emphasizes the significance of living in alignment with God's will in order to receive His blessings and avoid being cut off from His grace.
