Meaning

This verse, found in Revelation 10:6, speaks to the concept of eternity and the end of time as we know it. The oath taken by "him that liveth for ever and ever" emphasizes the eternal nature of God, who is the creator of all things in heaven, on earth, and in the sea. By swearing that there should be "time no longer," it signifies an end to the normal sequence of events and a transition into a timeless eternity. This declaration carries weight and importance, as it heralds a significant change in the course of history and the fulfillment of God's ultimate plan for creation. In this verse, we are reminded of the sovereignty and power of God, who transcends time and space, and whose purposes will ultimately come to fruition beyond the constraints of earthly time.
