Book of Romans - Chapter 13 - Verse 14

13:14
But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

Meaning

Putting on the Lord Jesus Christ means living a life that is guided by His teachings and example. It is about adopting his values, principles, and characteristics in our daily lives. By doing so, we are reflecting his love, kindness, and compassion to others. This verse emphasizes the importance of focusing on spiritual matters and avoiding behaviors that gratify the desires of the flesh. It warns against indulging in worldly pleasures that can lead us away from God's will. Making provision for the flesh refers to making arrangements or accommodations for sinful activities. Instead, we are encouraged to prioritize our relationship with Christ and strive to live in a way that is pleasing to Him. By following this instruction, we are choosing to align ourselves with God's divine purpose and resist the temptations of the flesh.
