Theological Overview

Boaz's declaration in the book of Ruth serves as a powerful theological interpretation of the concept of redemption. By affirming that he has purchased all that belonged to Naomi's deceased husband and sons, Boaz not only fulfills his duty as a kinsman-redeemer but also symbolically represents the salvation that comes through Christ. The act of redemption in this verse mirrors God's plan for humanity, where Jesus buys back all that was lost due to sin, restoring us to a right relationship with God.
