Book of Genesis - Chapter 29 - Verse 7

29:7
And he said, Lo, it is yet high day, neither is it time that the cattle should be gathered together: water ye the sheep, and go and feed them.

Meaning

In this verse, the speaker is advising those present to prioritize the care of the sheep over other responsibilities. The phrase "Lo, it is yet high day" suggests that there is still plenty of time left in the day to complete tasks. By instructing the listeners to water the sheep and feed them, the speaker is emphasizing the importance of taking care of their needs before attending to other matters, such as gathering the cattle. This verse serves as a reminder to prioritize the well-being of those under our care and to ensure that their needs are met before moving on to other tasks. It highlights the value of tending to the most essential needs first, rather than getting caught up in less important activities. By following this advice, we can ensure that we are responsible caretakers and prioritize what truly matters in our daily lives.
