Book of Joshua - Chapter 22 - Verse 27

22:27
But that it may be a witness between us, and you, and our generations after us, that we might do the service of the LORD before him with our burnt offerings, and with our sacrifices, and with our peace offerings; that your children may not say to our children in time to come, Ye have no part in the LORD.

The verse highlights the significance of ensuring that the knowledge and worship of the Lord are upheld by each succeeding generation. Through the act of offering burnt, sacrifice, and peace offerings, the Israelites aimed to demonstrate their commitment to the service of the Lord and instill a sense of belonging and inheritance in their children. The verse serves as a reminder to future generations of the covenant established with God and the responsibilities that come with it. It warns against straying from the path of faith and neglecting to pass on the teachings and practices of the Lord to the next generations.
